The first in the Domestic Pet Industry! Peidi Shares and Shell China Completed the "Zero-Carbon Factory" Certification

Peidi shares, the first A-share listed company in the pet industry in China, and Shell China announced that Peidi shares' Wenzhou production base completed SGS certification, officially achieved carbon neutrality certification, and became the first zero-carbon digital smart factory in China's pet industry.

Previously, Peidi shares and Shell China reached a cooperation, and the two parties reached a consensus on building a zero-carbon digital smart factory in the pet food industry, committed to the creation of zero-carbon factories, the implementation of energy-saving and consumption-reduction projects, and the exploration of broader and deeper cooperation opportunities in the direction of fast-moving consumer goods retail and energy transformation, and jointly explored the formulation of the "zero-carbon factory" standard for the pet food industry to provide demonstration value for the industry.

Last year, the China Energy Conservation Association approved the release of the "Zero-Carbon Factory Evaluation Specification" group standard, which kicked off the quantifiable prelude to the construction of "zero-carbon factories" in China. Starting this year, "zero-carbon factories" in major industries have been gradually established.

It is reported that Peidi shares were selected into the national green manufacturing list as early as the beginning of 2022 and were officially recognized as a "green factory." Last year, Peidi started upgrading its zero-carbon factory at a speed that was ahead of the industry. From July 2022 to June 2023, Peidi shares achieved a total reduction of 2,558 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (58%) through all green electricity substitution, and the remaining carbon emissions were completed through carbon sink purchases at the factory operation level, becoming the first zero-carbon digital smart factory in the domestic pet industry.

At the 12th International Pet Industry Summit Asia CEO Summit held in Shanghai on August 15 this year, the participating parties first proposed the Global Pet Industry Sustainable Development Initiative. Peidi was building a "zero-carbon factory" before the initiative, highlighting its social responsibility as an industry leader.

This conference advocated that the pet industry further enhance its awareness of carbon reduction and unite global forces to promote the sustainable development of the industry. Under the witness of government leaders, Peidi shares strategic vice president You Zhongming and industry colleagues launched the Global Pet Industry Sustainable Development Initiative, calling on the industry to take responsibility and collaborate to explore feasible carbon reduction and carbon neutrality solutions, and jointly create a harmonious future for people and pets.
